Job Summary
The Technical and Operator Safety Trainer will provide training to active technician associates covering proper maintenance and repairs for a variety of equipment as well as train customers for forklift operator and other powered industrial vehicle operators. The Technical and Operator Safety Trainer will coordinate scheduling and classes with internal and external customers to meet their OSHA certification training requirements. About 80% of the Technical and Operator Safety Trainer's responsibility is training in the technical aspects of forklift service maintenance, while about 20% is in operator safety training.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Establish service technician's skill level and develop an individualized training/skill improvement plan yearly
Support ProLift Technician Career Path Goals by conducting Toyota technical training and providing technical information to all associates
Conduct operator and safety training classes, including Train the Trainer (i.e. forklift, tuggers, aerial lift, skid steer, and scissor lift) in house or at customer locations
Ensure that all training tools and materials are available for scheduled classes
Promote ProLift Toyota Material Handling's philosophies, vision, strategies and value of "Doing the Right Thing"; Promote the TLM "Toyota Lean Management" philosophy
Educational/Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, knowledge of OSHA PIV regulations and training standards, five years' technical experience and training to the OSHA forklift certification standard and display efficiency in Microsoft products such as Word, Outlook, and Excel. This job will require 75% travel with overnight stays at times. The Technical and Operator Safety Trainer communicates to customers and sales teams, which require excellent verbal and written communication skills with a particular emphasis on listening skills. The ideal candidate will protect the organization's values by maintaining confidential information utilizing their ability to handle sensitive information.
